We’ve found a great venue for the festival: Alameda High School, 2201 Encinal Street, Alameda, CA. (Entrance at Oak Street and Alameda Avenue.) The gym is huge, there’s lots of outdoor space, and the historic theater is beautiful.
Getting there
The closest BART station is Fruitvale; Alameda High is near Park Street, over the Park Street Bridge. The AC Transit 51A line from Fruitvale or downtown Oakland passes right by the school, as does the AC Transit 20. Drivers can park on the street, or there’s a parking garage a block away at 1416 Oak Street.
Ferry
The San Francisco Bay Ferry serves the Alameda Main Street Terminal, from either San Francisco or Oakland Jack London Square.
Paid Parking
The Oak Street garage is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Garage patrons are required to pre-pay for parking for up to four hours between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, excluding holidays.
The parking rate is $0.50 per hour.
